The Thanh Vu General Hospital project in Bac Lieu, Vietnam, is designed to be a comprehensive, modern healthcare facility that addresses both immediate and specialized medical needs. The site covers approximately 36,000 square meters, with a phased construction plan to facilitate smooth development and operational efficiency. This multi-phase project includes two main hospital buildings, each supporting distinct functions while ensuring operational flexibility.
Phase 1 includes a nine-story building with 208 beds, comprising various medical departments such as emergency care, internal medicine, pediatrics, and obstetrics. Specialized areas like an ICU and surgical wards are also part of this phase. Supporting facilities include a mortuary, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) zones, and dedicated spaces for waste management and laundry, ensuring a self-sustaining system that handles all operational requirements effectively.
Phase 2 expands the hospital’s capacity and services, introducing a twelve-story building with an additional 337 beds. This phase focuses on specialty services, including a radiology department with CT and MRI facilities, a dedicated outpatient clinic, and a radiotherapy unit. Additional features include a hostel for long-term patient accommodations and training facilities to support the education of healthcare professionals. The expansion is designed to integrate seamlessly with Phase 1, ensuring continuity and cohesion across the entire site.
The architectural concept emphasizes patient well-being and environmental sustainability. Buildings are oriented to maximize natural ventilation and daylight, reducing heat gain through the use of green roofing and facades, which helps lower energy demands. Courtyards and water features create a calming, therapeutic environment that supports patient recovery and staff wellness.
