In designing the Ibis Airport Hotel, our goal was to create a space that combines urban minimalism with functionality, tailored to the needs of today’s traveler. Located near Tan Son Nhat Airport in Ho Chi Minh City, this 14-story hotel, along with an office block and a two-level basement, embraces simplicity and efficiency, striking a balance between aesthetic appeal and operational requirements.
Our approach to the 310 guestrooms was rooted in minimalist design principles, using clean lines and thoughtful spatial organization to achieve a cosmopolitan atmosphere with touches of Vietnamese-inspired motifs. The interiors blend modern amenities with local design cues, creating a unique environment that connects guests with the cultural context of Vietnam, while the facade presents a streamlined, unembellished massing that complements the cityscape.
Given the constraints of a compact site, we optimized every square meter to fulfill both client and operator needs, ensuring a well-balanced distribution of space. This attention to spatial economy allows each area to function efficiently, meeting high standards within the limited footprint.
Upon entering, guests are welcomed into a double-height lobby that evokes a sense of openness and elegance, elevating the experience beyond typical expectations for a 3-star property. The rooftop swimming pool and bar offer sweeping 360-degree views of Ho Chi Minh City, giving guests a stunning perspective that spans from the airport to the vibrant urban scene.
The Ibis Airport Hotel stands as an architectural response to the needs of modern travelers, providing comfort, style, and efficiency in a well-integrated urban context.
